Congratulations to our 2021 Student Achievement Award Recipients:

ARTS AND CULTURE AWARD: Stephanie Herrera
Recognizes a student whose extraordinary artistry contributes to the creative, intellectual and cultural vitality of the New Rochelle public schools.

DAVID A. GARFINKEL CITIZENSHIP AWARD: Dev Arbeiter
Recognizes students whose remarkable records of community service enrich our city and inspire fellow students to participate in civic life, named in memory of Fund board member and community leader David A. Garfinkel.

ERIC TUTERA SPORTS LEADERSHIP AWARD: Tyler Manley
Recognizes students whose athletic talent and discipline encourage fellow students to excel in both academic and extracurricular activities, named in memory of NRHS graduate and athlete Eric Tutera.

TECHNOLOGY AWARD: Maya Cole
Recognizes a student whose mastery of cutting edge technology demonstrates the power of scientific innovation to encourage learning and improve our lives.

We want to congratulate all of the students in grades 3-6 who presented their original works of poetry for us to share.

Civics Symposium

The NR Fund, in partnership with the New Rochelle High School Social Studies Department, presented the 2021 CIVICS SYMPOSIUM, Laboratories of Democracy: Advocating for Local Change, on January 26, 2021. New Rochelle High School A.P. U.S. Government and Politics students presented their position papers, followed by a discussion with their peers and a panel of experts.

The Fund awards grants annually to schools, applied for by teachers, administrators, parents or students. This grant-making program is intended to supplement an instructional need or enrichment opportunity, or subsidize a program/project that might not otherwise happen or reach the ideal scale.

SAT/ACT PREP COURSE

In partnership with Applerouth, the Fund offers SAT/ACT Preparation Classes at a reduced cost to all interested NRHS juniors. All juniors are eligible to take the course at a significantly reduced cost, while those students with financial need receive scholarships.
